Code of Conduct
GENERAL
Our Code of Conduct is intended to be a guideline for the entire company Optima Spanntechnik GmbH and should be followed by everyone equally.
It aims at everybody individually, the management, executive personnel and all our employees. The Code of Conduct represents the claims we set ourselves to comply with the values and principles contained herein on the one hand and at the same time it stands for responsibility in our behavior towards our business partners, customers and our employees.
COMMITMENT OF THE MANAGEMENT
Optima Spanntechnik GmbH sees itself committed to act with economical and social responsibility and environmental awareness. Optima Spanntechnik strives to do its business in a competent way based on ethic moral standards and allows fair competition in all the markets in which the company is present. We abide by applicable legislation, accept antitrust laws and reject restrictions to fair competition. We strive to avoid unlawful privileges over our customers, suppliers and competitors.
OPEN COMMUNICATION WITH EMPLOYEES
We do not hide misconduct. If employees report a real or an assumed misconduct in good faith, we will not tolerate intimidation or hostile action of any kind. Reporting misconduct “in good faith” means that an employee believes that what he or she is asserting is true, whether a subsequent investigation proves that the report is true or not.
At Optima Spanntechnik GmbH we use mistakes to continuously improve our products and processes.
DIALOGUE WITH COOPERATION PARTNERS
As a principle all business information of our partners as well as their company secrets are handled sensitively and are kept in confidence. Necessary documents are compiled and stored appropriately and returned or destroyed on request when the cooperation has ended.
CUSTOMER FOCUS
Our customers and business partners are treated in a fair manner. We listen to our customers’ and business partners’ wishes, requirements and expectations so that we can guarantee that they are implemented in our products, services and other processes in a focused way.
GIFTS AND DONATIONS
a) Gifts to our employees.
Our employees shall neither ask for nor accept any personal advantages from customers or suppliers which do or might influence their behavior with regard to their activities for our company.
If gifts are offered by third persons they may only be accepted if they are common practice and may be regarded as an act of politeness or courtesy (giveaways with logo signs of the offering company such as calendars or ball pens).
b) Gifts offered by our employees.
Gifts offered by ourselves must not exceed reasonable limits of our business relationship or exceed a reasonable material scale. The donnee must not relate any obligation to the gift which might influence any business decision.
c) Donations
As a basic principle Optima Spanntechnik GmbH does not make donations to political parties, to individuals or organisations whose targets do not comply with our corporate philosophy or damage our reputation. Donations are always made in a transparent manner.
BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION
We do not tolerate any form of corruption or bribery regardless whether our company assets or third party’s assets will be damaged. We use monitoring mechanisms to prevent bribery, theft, misappropriation, fraud, tax evasion and money laundering.
Our employees are not allowed to accept or offer courtesies of any kind (cash money, travels, gifts, etc.) which are related to an improper advantage (award of order or project, etc.).
We urge our business partners to avoid conflicts of interest which represent a risk of corruption.
DATA PROTECTION
We handle all personal data of our customers, business partners and employees according to the General Data Protection Regulation.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.
Environmental and climate protection are most important to us. Our staff members shall treat all natural resources (i.e. energy, water, surfaces) which are used in our company carefully. We expect our employees to handle these resources responsibly during manufacture and sales of our products and/or services. We observe the laws and regulations on health and safety at the workplace to protect our employees. Our executive personnel in particular take all necessary steps in order to create a healthy and safe working environment.
COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW
Our executive personnel observe the applicable law, rules and regulations in their area of responsibility to the best of their knowledge.
We expect our business partners and their suppliers to also respect applicable laws. This applies in particular to import, export and domestic trade in goods, technologies or services but also payments and capital movements.
Breach of economic embargos or regulations on trade, import and export control has to be ruled out by our business partners and their suppliers as has to be terrorist funding.
NON-DISCRIMINATION PRINCIPLE
Any form of discrimination is generally prohibited, regardless of whether nationality, ethnic affiliation, age and gender, sexual orientation, marital status, a pregnancy, a disability, religion or ideology are concerned. Promotion and recruitment are always made in a non-discriminatory manner.
HANDLING OF INTERNAL COMPANY DATA/MATTERS
It is important to us to handle the manufactured products, the working equipment and the intellectual property in a careful and responsible manner.
PROTECTION AGAINST CHILD LABOR AND FORCED LABOR
We strictly reject child labor or forced labor without any exception and expect the same from our business partners. School-age children (under 16 years) shall not be employed even if the jurisdiction in the country of our respective supplier allows this.
IMPLEMENTATION AND ENFORCEMENT
Optima Spanntechnik GmbH undertakes to make all necessary efforts to comply with the principles and values set out in this Code of Conduct.
